Model Highlights

Both a compact hatchback and a sedan are available on the 2007 Hyundai Accent, with two trims being offered on the hatchback and one on the sedan. All Accents are powered by a 110-horsepower, 1.6L in-line four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing that makes 106 ft-lbs of torque. When coupled with the five-speed automatic, the Accent accelerates with reasonable verve. A four-speed automatic is optional across the board. Some of the standard features worth noting on the base GS hatchback are dual-speed intermittent windshield wipers, a rear spoiler, and a 60/40 split rear seat that enhances versatility. An eight-way adjustable cloth driver's seat allows for adequate legroom. The SE hatchback adds a long list of equipment, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever, 16-inch alloy wheels (versus the GS's 14-inch steel wheels), a stiffer sport-tuned suspension, air conditioning, heated power mirrors, remote keyless entry with an alarm, rear disc brakes with ABS and electronic brake distribution, and power windows, mirrors and door locks. The sedan comes in only one trim, the GLS, which is equipped similarly to the GS hatchback. Notable exceptions are air conditioning, two more speakers, and illuminated vanity mirrors. Air conditioning, an upgraded sound system, and power features can be ordered on the GS, while a six-disc CD changer and a sunroof can be added to the SE for $1,250. The GLS can be upgraded with four-wheel disc brakes, 15-inch alloy wheels, and various power convenience items. Hyundai continues to offer one of the best warranties on the market, with five-year/60,000-mile new vehicle coverage. The powertrain is covered for ten years or 100,000 miles. The "no rust" anti-perforation warranty runs for seven years with no mileage restriction, and there is even roadside assistance provided for as many miles as you can drive in five years.
